To start, connect the DualSense to your PC via wire or Bluetooth as described above. Once you have it connected, open Steam and launch Big Picture Mode.
Considering Updating Drivers Systems
You can do this in two ways – either via a USB cable or via Bluetooth. When you launch DS4Windows for the first time you’ll be asked where you want your settings and profiles to be saved – we’d recommend using the default selection of ‘Appdata’. It’s easy for you to plug in the Dualshock 4 controller and control your PC games. You can control the TV-friendly Big Picture Mode of Steam using the DualShock 4, and your games will now display PS4 button prompts in-game. Steam, the popular storefront and game launcher, released an update that allows you to use the PS4 DualShock controller on your PC when running the application.
The DualSense will now be accessible in Windows with its DirectInput driver, which some games will recognize and let you rebind controls. But many PC games today are built around Microsoft’s newer XInput driver for the Xbox controllers, so the DualSense will be pretty limited without some help. To connect the controller to your PC via USB, you’re going to need a USB-C to USB-A cable for your PC (or a drivers for windows USB-C to C cable if you happen to have a convenient C port). While the PlayStation 5 console comes with one packed in, the DualSense sold by itself doesn’t.
Products For Driver Support – What’s Needed
Get your hands on a cable, plug it in, and you’re on your way. The PlayStation 5’s DualSense is one hell of a controller. Thanks to its advanced haptic motors and "adaptive" triggers, it feels like no controller I’ve used before. Because Sony hasn’t made a DualSense driver for Windows, the only games that can fully take advantage of the DualSense’s advanced features are exclusive to Sony’s console. There’s no telling if we’ll ever see PC games take advantage of the adaptive triggers or the surprisingly good built-in speaker.
But thanks to Steam, we can at least use the DualSense controller on PC right now. The DualSense doesn’t have official PC drivers, but you can still use it through Steam. Logitech Flow uses the local network to link computers and allow them to share a mouse and, if available, a keyboard.
For advanced devices, you can adjust the scroll wheel, cursor speed, and much more3. Enhanced key functions let you set Logitech keyboards to behave just the way you like. To connect the PS4 controller via Bluetooth, press and hold the central PS Button and the Share button for three seconds until the lightbar at the top of the controller begins to flash. The PS4 DualShock 4 controller uses Bluetooth, so you’ll need to make sure your PC or laptop has a Bluetooth receiver built in. One of the best things about using the PS4 DualShock 4 controller on your PC is that you can use it wirelessly, giving you far more flexibility when gaming. To connect the PS4 DualShock controller to your PC via a USB cable you just need a regular micro USB cable – the same one that comes with many modern smartphones. Now you’ll be able to connect your PS4 DualShock 4 controller to your PC.
